The Red Devils are paying their dues right now. It’s tough. It’s not fun, and it’s not pretty.
Just ask any of the 251 souls on hand at Myklebust Gymnasium, Wednesday, to see the Lower Columbia College volleyball team swept by Highline by scores of 25-16, 25-14 and 25-18.
That quick defeat made it four losses in a row for LCC with little time left to figure things out before NWAC West divisional play pulls the Red Devils too far into the current to change course.
Kenny Collins led LCC with 10 kills and eight digs. Allison Orantes dished out a team-high nine assists to go with four digs, and Madi Noel added eight digs in the loss.
Samantha Farland had a hard time swinging at the net, finishing with just five kills, but led the Red Devils with nine digs.
Halle Garrity led Highline with 14 kills and nine digs, and Madison Mamizuka handed out 36 assists with 17 digs for the visitors.
Lower Columbia (4-12, 0-2 league) will play at Green River on Friday at 7 p.m.
