Stevens, Stephens and Co. lead Monarchs over Washougal

All of the pieces are now in place for what all of Longview has been waiting for all along.

The Mark Morris boys basketball team defeated Washougal 65-45 on Wednesday night in their penultimate 2A Greater St. Helens League contest, and with the victory gave the community the greatest gift — a Civil War showdown to determine who will own both bragging rights and at least a share of the league title.

“I’m excited we were able to get ourselves back into a position where this game is meaningful,” Mark Morris coach Ken Kelly said. “These guys are excited to have a chance to defend the title.”
