Webber leads Toutle Lake over Morton-White Pass

Don’t look now but the Fighting Ducks have a puncher’s chance of landing a playoff spot.

The Toutle Lake boys basketball team rewarded its most faithful fans with a 69-61 win over Morton-White Pass, Friday, in Central 2B League action in East Cowlitz County.

That’s right, after losing their first dozen games this season the Ducks have found a way to make things interesting down the home stretch. They’re now just a half game behind Mossyrock for the final playoff berth out of the C2BL, and they’ve got three games to make up the difference.

The Ducks defeated Mossyrock in early January to break the seal to the win column.

“Just need one more now,” first-year Toutle Lake coach Nick Veys said.
