Iddings shoots Kelso over Washougal
Don’t look now but the Hilanders may have found a cure for that which has been ailing them. That’s the hope in the hearts of Kelso fans, at least, after Bryar Iddings scored at least two dozen points for the second straight game in a 52-49 non-league win over Washougal, Monday, at home on Big K-Court.
Iddings scored a game-high 24 points on 7 of 11 shooting. He was 8 of 8 from the free throw line and 2 of 2 from beyond the 3-point arc. The senior sniper added two steals for good measure.
That performance in a three-point win came on the heels of a three-point loss at Mountain View late last week when Idding scored 26 points.
Now on the downhill side of the regular season schedule and with four wins in the bag, the Hilanders need someone to be that guy for them each night. They’ve got a gang of greenhorns who are gung-ho to rub elbows night after night, but they need somebody who’s been through the fog of war and seen the other side to take over when the going gets tough.
To that end, Kelso hopes Iddings is That Guy.
“Two impressive games offensively, back-to-back,” Kelso coach Joe Kinch said.
