Beavers battle to the bloody end at Hockinson
The Woodland girls soccer team saw its season come to an end Wednesday in a 4-3 loss at Hockinson in a 2A District IV Tournament loser-out match.
The Beavers opened up their run in the playoffs with a 1-0 win over Aberdeen that required extra time, but a loss to Ridgefield in their follow up put their collective pelts against the wall.
“We played our best game tonight, we really put all our time, training and the ups and downs to perform for this last game,” first-year Woodland head coach Onesimo Sebastian-Gonzalez said. “Although we fell short we never gave up, we fought a good hard game and it took all of us to make it this far.”
The Beavers held a 2-1 lead at the intermission with plenty of help from Sophia Speranza.
