Just Ducky — Toutle Lake outlasts Mossyrock in league finale

The Toutle Lake volleyball team improved its playoff seeding and finished the regular season out in style all at once, Wednesday, with a five-set win at Mossyrock. The Fighting Ducks upset the No. 2 seeded Vikings in the Central 2B League match by scores of 25-21, 22-25, 13-25, 25-16 and 15-13.

“Our top player tonight was Kendal Dean,” said Toutle Lake coach Erika Gould.

Dean posted a dozen kills, 13 assists, three stuff blocks and three stuff blocks in the win. Oh, and much to her coach’s delight, she was also nearly perfect on serve attempts.

Sophia Spinneberg and Madelyn Ranta also received kudos from their coach after helping to lock up fifth place in the C2BL standings.

“My middles did a great job blocking tonight for two freshman,” Gould noted.
