LCC leans into life on the road
The Lower Columbia women’s basketball team has been trending in the right direction in December and picked up two wins in three chances at the Columbia Basin Crossover last week. The Red Devils defeated Everett and Portland to bookend theri time in Pasco, but lost to the hosts.
“We got tripped up a little bit in a rematch with Columbia basin on Friday,” LCC coach Lucas Myers noted.
That contest came down to some errant attempts from the charity stripe and a few too many missed opportunities down the stretch, but it wasn’t enough to make the Red Devils regret their life choices. It only revealed areas for refinement.
“We’ve been on the road all preseason,” Myers said. “You have to do it with the right team and I’ve got a lot of leaders and older players that gives me an opportunity to do that. It gives us an opportunity to play some quality teams where we’re not in our own bed and how to prepare on the road.”
And why is that important?
“We need to learn how to win at the tournament,” Myers explained.
