Stanley sets Toledo up for win over Ocosta

Ryah Stanley assisted both of the Riverhawks’ goals, Wednesday, in a 2-1 win at home in Cheese Town over Ocosta in Central 2B League girls soccer play.
Toledo picked up its first score in the 11th minute when Stanley setup Peyton Holter for a goal. The Riverhawks added to their cushion in the 35th minute when Xtyn Norberg took another Stanley pass and put it in the back of the net.
The Wildcats picked up their lone score in the 40th minute when Kylee Denny scored on a direct kick, but the Toledo defense held strong in a scoreless second half to clinch the league win.
Toledo (4-4, 1-0 league) will host Adna at Hippi Stadium on Monday at 6 p.m.
Sancho sends Winlock to win at Forks
Victoria Sancho was on fire on the edge of the rainforest, Wednesday, when Winlock picked up a 6-4 win at Forks in C2BL girls soccer action.
Sancho scored four goals on the West End of the Olympic Peninsula to lead the Cardinals, and Natalie Cardenas added two scores in the win.
According to Winlock coach Corny Sanchez, Sancho has now scored 10 goals in three games.
Winlock (3-0, 1-0 league) will play at Napavine on Monday at 6 p.m.
Fighting Ducks foiled by Onalaska
The Toutle Lake girls soccer team lost a home match to Onalaska by a score of 4-0, Wednesday, in C2BL girls soccer play.
The Fighting Ducks managed six shots on frame in the contest but couldn’t find a crack in the Loggers’ last line of defense.
Meanwhile, Onalaska notched its first goal 23 minutes into the game and never looked back.
Kaiyah Sandridge posted a hat trick with three goals for the Loggers. Silvie Little added a goal and Kate Zandell posted two assists with seven interceptions. Jaellyn Auman buffered the Onalaska defense with six interceptions.
Despite the shutout, Toutle Lake coach Alli Ostreim remains encouraged by the Ducks’ progress this season.
“Anayiah (Perez is) being an animal and Joline (VanHoof is) standing out on defense,” Ostreim noted. “Last year we lost (7-0 to Onalaska) and the year before was (11-0), so we are definitely going in the right direction.”
Toutle Lake (1-7, 0-1) will play at Ocosta on Monday at 6 p.m.
Onalaska (4-3-1, 1-0 league) will host Raymond-South Bend on Monday at 6 p.m.
