This Day In History
April 20, 2007: Seven innings weren’t enough to separate Kalama and Castle Rock in the second game of a 1A TriCo baseball doubleheader, so Nick Peacock gave the Chinooks an eighth frame on the hill to lead the way to a 3-2 win. Peacock struck out 10 and walked one in eight innings of work to earn the win.
“He had absolute iron nerve,” Kalama coach Dave Orzel said.
Opposite Peacock, Castle Rock’s Drew Pettit was just as good if not better, striking out 16 and allowing two runs on two hits in seven innings, but had to settle for the no-decision.
