This Day In History
April 16, 1989: The Toledo baseball team only manages three hits in the first game of its doubleheader against Winlock, but two of them go over the fence to pave the way to a 7-1 win for the Cheese Town nine. Tony Brinson hit a three-run shot, and Jason Murphy had a solo blast. Toledo did get on base via walks — 12 of them, in total — and stole 11 bags. Toledo also won the nightcap, 12-6, with Casey Winters adding one more home run.
