R.A. Long survives Civil Roll with Mark Morris
The Lumberjills and Monarchs split their games at the Triangle Lanes, Wednesday, but the girls from R.A. Long picked up the spare pins needed to secure a 1980-1903 victory in the season’s second Civil War at Longview’s only bowling alley.
Hailey Wright led the Jills with a 385 series, while Roni Little tallied a high score of 462 to lead the Monarchs. Little’s score included a high mark of 238 in the second game of the day, which turned plenty of heads on the surrounding lanes during the 2A Greater St. Helens League rivalry affair.
“(That’s) the highest set in the league this year, I think,” R.A. Long coach Shane Berridge said.
And her own coach had more context to add about Little’s performance.
“Roni Little threw 15 strikes down between two games and bakers,” Mark Morris coach Tiffany Kotera said. “She earned ‘Unicorn’ twice for her (twice) rolling five strikes in a row.”
